History
George Reitnour opened his Spring City office in 1983 and joined Kenneth B. Mumma and David Andrew Schwartz in 1985.  Together, they incorporated Cornerstone Lawyers, Ltd. in 1988.  The  lawyers chose the name Cornerstone to reflect their efforts to make their practice a cornerstone for a better community.  In 1992, Reitnour again took over the practice when Mumma & Schwartz retired.  In 2000, Reitnour accepted his current position as Vice President at National Penn's Investors Trust Company.

Mission Statement
The purpose of the firm was to provide legal services in particular areas of law to clients in its community and to provide its clients with access to a broader scope of service through associations with other lawyers and persons engaged in related fields.  The firm intended, through its work, to help people express and achieve their life purposes.

Service
The lawyer maintained a quiet, balanced lifestyle conducive to long-term reliability and trust.  The lawyer's  services were intended to satisfy clients who shared these values.

Fees
Fees were generally $200.00 per hour for attorney time and $75 per hour for assistant time as of 2000.  However, the lawyers never turned away clients for lack of money.

Office Management
The staff consisted of an estates practice assistant, a paralegal, and an independent bookkeeper.  People working in the office participated in decisions relating to the direction and management of the firm.

Community Development
The law firm supported area community building efforts including:  Spring City Revitalization; East Vincent Parks (especially Pennhurst Park); Orion Communities (dedicated to inclusion in society of formerly excluded people); Spring Ford Chamber of Commerce; Spring City Lions Club; Oddfellowship; restoration of passenger rail service (Schuylkill Valley Metro); and our business and nonprofit clients and friends.

Lecture Series
The firm provided lectures to local organizations.  Lecture topics included:

living trusts
asset protection planning
lawyers and poets
trails, trains & Main Streets
